BOE's Bell: Spending revisions meet expectations

Bank of England Monetary Policy Committee member Marian Bell said a decision by the statistics office to revise down figures for consumer spending in the second quarter matched the Bank's own expectations.

``The latest revisions are closer to what we would have thought in terms of the first quarter and the second quarter,'' Bell said after a discussion on statistics at the central bank in London.

Fellow policy maker Charles Bean said that the Bank took preliminary estimates of the U.K.'s
