Dubai watchdog issues hedge fund code

The Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) has published a draft Hedge Fund Code for public comment. A consultation paper and a copy of the draft code were made available on the DFSA's website on 4 July.

The documents ask for comment on the regulator's proposals to introduce best practice standards for the hedge fund industry in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).

The window for public comment will close on 4 October 2007.

The DFSA has chosen nine areas of risk, which are seen as
