MP says Malta central bankers comments 'offensive'

MALTA - Malta's Labour Party has slammed Central Bank governor Michael C Bonello after he claimed that Malta would benefit economically from European Union membership.

And MLP finance spokesman Leo Brincat said Mr Bonello had "disqualified himself from serving under a Labour government" following his address at the Financial Services Institute annual dinner on Thursday, the Malta Independent reported.

Without mincing his words, Mr Brincat said the Labour Party will not keep Mr Bonello as governor
