RBNZ appoints new forecasting manager

NEW ZEALAND - Bernard Hodgetts, who occupied the post of chief economist, is leaving the ANZ Banking Group (NZ) Ltd to take up a role at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand.

A Reserve Bank of New Zealand spokeswoman said Hodgetts starts at the central bank 9 October.

Hodgetts' position at the central bank is Manager, Forecasting, a senior position within the Reserve Bank's Economics Department, she said.

He replaces John McDermott, the former manager of forecasting at the central bank who last month
