Central Bank of Iceland Governor resigns

ICELAND - Central Bank of Iceland Governor Finnur Ingolfsson has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the insurance company VS Ltd and has resigned as Governor of the Central Bank of Iceland.

The Central Bank of Iceland has three Governors, one of which acts as Chairman.

The Prime Minister has today appointed Ingimundur Fridriksson Governor effective 1 October, 2002 for an indefinite period not exceeding one year. Mr. Fridriksson has been Assistant Governor since 1994.
