Shiokawa: Want BOJ to keep at least Y8T reserves

JAPAN - Japanese Finance Minister Masajuro Shiokawa said Wednesday that he won't propose the Group of Seven monetary authorities take joint action against the weak dollar at their meeting in Washington Saturday.

"I don't intend to," Shiokawa told a regular news conference when asked if he would ask Japan's G7 counterparts to take coordinated steps in foreign exchange markets to prop up the dollar.
