Nigeria cb shelves plan for 1,000 naira note

Plans to bring in a 1,000 naira note in Nigeria have been put on hold. The note would be worth double the current highest denomination banknote but the plan was shelved due to unfavourable economic conditions.

An unfavourable economic condition in the country has made the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) shelve its planned introduction of a 1,000 naira bill into the economy, it was learnt yesterday.
