BoJ considers purchase of asset-backed securities

Japan's central bank said on Tuesday 8 april it may take unconventional steps, such as buying securities, to push the nation's economy toward recovery while keeping cash circulating in the financial system.

The Bank of Japan said on Tuesday it would study the outright purchase of asset-backed securities in what it described as "an unprecedented measure for a central bank".
