UK inflation expectations jump to fresh high

A Bank of England survey shows the British public thinks prices will rise by 4.3% over the next 12 months, their highest-ever estimate of annual inflation.

The quarterly poll - conducted by the Bank of England and GfK NOP, a market research firm - showed that the median expectations of inflation had soared by a full percentage point since February this year. The February figure of 3.3% was the previous record for the survey, first conducted in 1999. The pace of the acceleration is also a series
