Use standard loan documents: MAS

SINGAPORE - The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) yesterday encouraged Singapore banks to adopt standardised templates for loan documentation, saying this would benefit them and borrowers, as well as help in the growth of the loan syndication market.

The push is in line with MAS' objective of encouraging the development of strong, profitable banks, said its deputy managing director John Palmer.

He was speaking at the launch of the first phase of standardised loan documents being spearheaded by
