ADB chief calls for early yuan shift

Asian Development Bank President Haruhiko Kuroda said Tuesday 14 June that China should shift to a more flexible currency regime at an early date as such a move would benefit China and the rest of the world.

"In the past two, three years, I have argued that Chinese authorities are well-advised to change their exchange rate regime to make it more flexible," he told a press luncheon at the Foreign Correspondents' Club of Japan.
