ECB's Weber says rates must keep rising

ECB governing council member Axel Weber said on Friday 26 January must keep withdrawing monetary stimulus from the euro zone economy.

Weber told reporters at the World Economic Forum in Davos, that upward risks to inflation still exist because of an increase in euro zone money supply in December.

In a separate interview with Bloomberg Television, Weber said the ECB would do whatever was needed to protect price stability, without tying itself to any set course.

Weber, who is also the Bundesbank
