PBOC appoints Guo Shuqing as head of forex

CHINA - The People's Bank of China, China's central bank, has appointed Guo Shuqing as one of its deputy governors and the head of the foreign exchange regulatory agency.

Guo, whose appointment has yet to be formally announced by the State Council, China's cabinet, is not expected to make any major policy changes.

He used to be one of the deputy governors of Guizhou province and will take over the post from PBOC Deputy Governor Wu Xiaoling as the head of State Administration of Foreign Exchange.
