Thai cb chief rejects reform criticism

Bank of Thailand Governor Pridiyathorn Devalkula said on Friday 15 October that under his leadership the central bank had carried out more reforms than other state agencies.

His remarks were made in response to recent comments by Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra that the central bank needs further reform, as efforts made so far had been insufficient.

"The central bank has made far more reforms than many other agencies. We can evaluate ourselves. There is nothing to worry about," Pridiyathorn
