Paraguay appoints interim central bank president

Economist Benicio Sanchez has been chosen as interim president of the Paraguayan central bank by fellow directors following the resignation of Gabriel Gonzalez, local press reported.

Gonzalez resigned after reportedly hitting a protester who was demonstrating outside his residence last week, Business News Americas reported.
