Fed's Duke calls for focus on community projects in US

Federal Reserve System governor Elizabeth Duke said on March 27 that banks and financial institutions should help local communities apply entrepreneurial solutions to regeneration projects.

Speaking at the National Interagency Community Reinvestment conference in Seattle, Duke said that the financial sector's role in the regeneration would be beneficial in the longer term as it would stimulate demand for credit in those communities.
