Ricardo da Costa Martinelli
Ricardo da Costa Martinelli leads front-office teams overseeing international reserves and local foreign exchange operations at the Central Bank of Brazil. He plays a key role in tactical and strategic asset allocation, and provides broad support to department leadership across a range of management and policy-related initiatives.
With over 24 years’ experience at the BCB, Mr Martinelli was Adviser and Head of the Investment Division, where he had worked before as a trader, strategist and portfolio manager across multiple fixed income desks, covering the US, Europe, Canada, Japan, Australia, China and emerging markets. He previously spent two years as an economic assistant at the House of Representatives.
Mr Martinelli holds a PhD in economics, and possesses extensive experience in portfolio management, macroeconomics and finance.
