Croatian membership boosts ECB capital

The Croatian National Bank (CNB) today joined the European System of Central Banks (ESCB), on the occasion of Croatia's entry into the European Union.

The CNB's governor, Boris Vujčić, has taken his place on the General Council of the European Central Bank (ECB). Experts from the bank, who, like the governor, have been observers at ESCB committee meetings since the signing of Croatia's Accession Treaty in December 2011, also gained full member status.
