Bank of Thailand launches data-sharing initiative

Central bank and regulators plan to make consent-based data-sharing mechanism operational in 2026

Thailand’s central bank and several of its regulators have launched a data-sharing initiative aimed at enabling more efficient use of customer information within the financial system.

Under the Your Data project, the authorities plan to develop a mechanism whereby individuals and businesses can consent to the digital transfer of personal data from one financial institution or government agency to another.

In a statement on October 3, the Bank of Thailand (BoT) said the mechanism could help users
