The first Economics Benchmarks report, published in 2020, partially overlapped with the opening stages of the Covid-19 pandemic. The effects of the virus were already starting to appear in the question of how central banks think about the economy, and how they organise the specialist staff tasked with forecasting and wider economic analysis. The pandemic continues worldwide and, in 2021, the effects appear in Central Banking’s benchmarking
