Financial integration will strengthen region – Thai governor

Santiprabhob says policies need to “converge” to create integrated market

The governor of the Bank of Thailand has said “sufficiently flexible” rules and regulations will help foster regional financial integration in the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS).

Speaking in Bangkok today (June 1), Veerathai Santiprabhob praised the GMS’ efforts in fostering integration through trade, infrastructure and investment. However, the Thai governor stressed that, in order to stay competitive, the region’s financial integration needs to be strengthened.
