Central banks adopt Swift harmonisation charter

Three central banks join 18 other institutions in global rollout of messaging standard ISO 20022

Three central banks have signed up to Swift's ISO 20022 harmonisation charter, an industry-driven framework to support the global rollout of the payments messaging standard.

In a statement published on September 26, Swift, the global financial messaging provider, announced the charter was making "great strides" with key financial market infrastructures and market practice groups.

According to Patrik Neutjens, ISO 20022 programme director at Swift, 21 institutions have signed up to the charter
