Riksbank’s payment system restored after technical failure

Sveriges Riksbank's large-value payments system, RIX, is working again, after suffering a "technical disruption" and failing yesterday afternoon.

RIX, described as the "central hub of the Swedish financial infrastructure" by the central bank, turns over around Skr500 billion ($78 billion) each day. However, the Riksbank was forced to return to a manual routine of settling payments when it failed to start at around noon Central European Time (CET) on March 11.
