Central banks around Europe are becoming aware of the threats posed by cyber security-focused artificial intelligence models, like Anthropic’s Mythos.

Central Banking has spoken to around a dozen authorities to understand how the appearance of the new technology is affecting supervisory and other priorities inside institutions, but data from Central Banking’s risk management benchmark 2026 shows that AI risks have already been on the top of risk managers’ minds for a while.
