Bolivian officials say reserves problem is temporary

Central bank sells SDRs as dollar scarcity and legislative gridlock persist

Bolivian officials say the country’s shortage of dollars will ease, as people face long waits for US currency due to critically strained reserves.

Finance minister Marcelo Montenegro said central bank officials “are replenishing” the reserves. He said that only the central bank could give specific figures about reserve levels.
