Georgieva says Argentina needs permanent fix to FX problems

IMF releases latest $3.8bn financing tranche, as market inflation forecasts reach 100%

The International Monetary Fund’s executive board agreed to disburse $3.8 billion in funding for Argentina on October 7.

This was the third tranche of funding from a $44 billion, 30-month package approved last March. The board said Argentina had met targets for reserves accumulation and reducing monetary financing.

The Argentine government actually exceeded its target under the IMF programme for building up foreign exchange reserves, having missed its previous quarterly goal.
