Argentine central bank struggles to meet reserves targets

IMF signs preliminary agreement for loan payment but reports say BCRA cannot meet reserve target

The Central Bank of Argentina is struggling to obtain dollars for its international reserves, according to several reports.

The BCRA may not be able to achieve the level of reserves it agreed with the International Monetary Fund as part of a $44 billion programme.

News website Infobae, citing a local brokerage, put net international reserves at nearly $3.7 billion in late May. Bloomberg cited a figure of $3.95 billion on June 9.
