SNB has weak transparency and governance practices – report

Board risks “group-think”, as its monetary policy communication is shallow, experts argue

The Swiss National Bank is lagging behind its peers in transparency and overall governance standards, according to an independent report published today (April 14).

The SNB Observatory says, in its latest report, that the central bank’s monetary policy communication is too scarce and shallow. It says the three-member body is small in comparison to most central banks, which fosters “group-think”.
