Research provides deeper look into Riksbank’s policy decisions

Swedish central bank developed a flexible, faster deliberation process when dealing with pandemic

New research published by Sveriges Riksbank shows how it developed a more flexible and faster deliberation process during the Covid-19 crisis.

The research by Maria Sjödin, from the Riksbank’s monetary policy department, sheds light on how it changed in a period that required closer internal co-operation.

These rapid changes fostered a higher degree of co-ordination between the monetary policy department, financial stability, markets and payments departments, Sjödin finds.
