Action is needed to scale up green investment and tackle information issues, writes Sayuri Shirai

Environmental, social and governance (ESG) investment has been under the spotlight in recent years among long-term and institutional investors (such as pension funds and insurance firms) and asset management firms around the world. The related concept of sustainable investment is also on the rise. This is broader than ESG investment since other types of investment­ – such as impact investment and ethical (or negative) screening – are included.
