BIS could play renewed role amid Covid crisis, scholar says

Fed’s role in dealing with Covid-19’s international effects has parallels with 1960s, historian argues

The Bank for International Settlements could expand the work it does in co-ordinating central banks’ stabilisation efforts, an economic historian argued today (October 30).

This would hark back in many ways to the role it played between the end of the Second World War and 1971, Catherine Schenk said.
