The Bank for International Settlements is looking to throw off its reputation for secrecy, as general manager Agustín Carstens pushes for a new era of transparency.

“I think it’s a two-way street. If you are more open, you can receive more feedback,” Carstens said on a call with journalists ahead of the BIS’s annual general meeting.

He said the move towards greater transparency had been one of the things he had moved most “decisively” on since becoming general manager in December 2017.
