The Reserve Bank of New Zealand has announced a “modest easing” of its loan-to-value ratio restrictions from January 1, 2018.

The RBNZ said that inflationary pressures in the country’s housing market were already falling. Conditions in the housing market are expected to ease further in response to policies proposed by the Labour-led coalition government, acting governor Grant Spencer said.
