Yanis Varoufakis, And the weak suffer what they must? Europe, austerity and the threat to global stability, Bodley Head, 2016, 320 pages

Like it or loathe it, this book is not going to leave the reader unmoved. Varoufakis uses vivid images and rams his points home with vigour. While the treatment of Greece in Europe's sovereign debt crisis is at the heart of the book, it provides a far wider critique of the international financial system, stretching back to Bretton Woods and beyond.
