Monetary easing ‘likely’ required over summer, says Carney

Bank of England governor expects easing in the coming months following UK vote to leave EU

Some monetary policy easing will "likely be required over the summer" in the UK, the governor of the Bank of England (BoE) said today (June 30).

Speaking at the heart of the BoE, the governor highlighted the "increased uncertainty" and "tighter financial conditions" that have emerged following the UK's vote to leave the EU.
