Haldane says central banks have ‘further to go’ to improve communication

The Bank of England's Andrew Haldane believes that central banks have improved the ways in which they communicate, but insists "there is doubtless further to go".

Haldane, the Bank's executive director for financial stability, told an audience at the School of Oriental and African Studies in London last night that central banks have historically communicated in "rather arid" technical terminology.

He explained that for much of the 320 years that the Bank has existed, its communication was geared
