The European Central Bank has implemented its second rate hike of 2026, bringing its policy rate to 2.5%.

The bank’s president Christine Lagarde announced the decision today (September) 10 in Berlin, Germany, alongside Deutsche Bundesbank president Joachim Nagel, ECB vice-president Boris Vujčić and the bank’s director-general for general communications Wolfgang Proissl.
