Lebanon’s central bank governor did not attend a French court hearing that was considering whether to charge him with financial crimes, Reuters reported today (May 16).

French judge Aude Buresi is leading an investigation into claims of money laundering, embezzlement and illegal enrichment by Bank of Lebanon governor Riad Salameh. Reuters reported the court was likely to formally charge Salameh with several crimes, but said he had not attended the hearing.
