Swiss authorities freeze Lebanese governor’s assets – report

Lebanese prosecutor orders judge to pause investigation of crisis-hit banks

Switzerland’s financial regulator has frozen assets belonging to the Central Bank of Lebanon governor, according to a newspaper report.

Lebanon’s chief prosecutor also ordered a judge to stop investigating the country’s crisis-hit commercial banks, Reuters reported today (February 28).

The Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority, or Finma, froze accounts in 12 Swiss banks holding assets linked to Salameh, SonntagsZeitung reported on February 26. Switzerland has been investigating allegations
