Norges Bank raises rates again

Norwegian central bank governor says MPC might continue to slow pace of increases

The Norwegian central bank’s monetary policy committee (MPC) unanimously decided to increase the policy rate by 25 basis points to 2.5% on November 3.

Norges Bank’s move slowed down its tightening process, after three consecutive 50bp rate increases. Governor Ida Wolden Bache said the MPC had been “concerned with balancing the risk of tightening too much against the risk of tightening too little”.
