Educating banks is key to CBDC project, ECCB officials say

Crypto asset providers tried to take advantage of CBDC launch, deputy governor says

Educating financial institutions was key to the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank’s (ECCB) prototype central bank digital currency (CBDC) project, one official said.

Central banks must collaborate and speak more about their CBDC projects, argued Valda Henry, deputy governor of the ECCB. “You’ll find the same errors happen across the banks,” she said.
