Bank of Israel reserves drop by over $6.1 billion in September

Central bank’s portfolio has declined by almost $27 billion in 2022 amid market volatility

The Bank of Israel’s reserves declined by over $6.1 billion in September, mainly as a result of falling equity prices.

The portfolio declined last month to almost $186 billion, the central bank said today (October 6). In the year to date, the BoI’s reserves have declined by close to $27 billion, or 12.7%, after peaking at $213 billion in December 2021.
