Lowering inflation is US policy-makers’ top priority, the Dallas Federal Reserve’s new president said in her first public speech in the role.

“Our number one priority has to be to restore price stability,” Lorie Logan said in a speech on August 31, adding she was concerned by inequality in the Fed’s eleventh district.

“Not everyone is experiencing the economy in the same way,” she said. Logan praised community banks and said she hopes to advance their interests at the Fed.
