Polish opposition pledges to dismiss central bank governor

Glapiński calls opposition leader “a liar” after he says governor was appointed against legal advice

Poland’s leading opposition party has pledged to remove the central bank’s governor from office if it wins the next general election.

Donald Tusk, leader of Civic Platform, said the party would dismiss Adam Glapiński, calling him incompetent and an open supporter fo the country’s ruling party. Glapiński condemned Tusk’s remarks and pledged that the National Bank of Poland would take legal action against a second opposition leader.
