New York Fed’s Logan picked for Dallas Fed president

Appointment triggers controversy over failure to appoint a Hispanic candidate

Lorie Logan was elected president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas by the bank’s board of directors on May 12.

As an executive vice-president at the New York Fed, Logan currently oversees the System Open Market Account, which includes the Fed’s nearly $10 trillion securities portfolio. Her role also puts her in charge of market operations, monitoring and analysis.

“I am excited about moving to Texas and becoming involved in the community,” said Logan.

Her new role at the Dallas Fed means
