Bank of Korea raises rates again as inflation climbs

Governor Lee Ju-yeol says he will not rule out another hike in the first quarter of 2022

The South Korean central bank’s monetary policy board raised the base rate by 25 basis points for the second time this year on November 25.

Governor Lee Ju-yeol told a press conference that he would not rule out another rate hike in the first quarter of next year. The board also raised its inflation forecast.
