Report accuses Georgieva of changing data under Chinese pressure

IMF head rejects allegations made by World Bank-commissioned independent report

International Monetary Fund managing director Kristalina Georgieva rejected a World Bank-commissioned report that accused her of helping change data to win favour with China’s government.

The World Bank commissioned an investigation from US law firm Wilmer Hale into alleged irregularities over the compilation Doing Business report after complaints from officials.

The Doing Business reports rate the comparative ease of carrying out commercial matters in different countries. The World Bank
