Lebanese central bank audit has not yet started, says outgoing finance minister

Lebanon’s outgoing finance minister said on September 10 that a long-delayed forensic audit of the central bank should begin soon, as demanded by international donors.

On the same day, a new government took office, with Najib Mikati as prime minister, after president Michel Aoun brokered a cross-community agreement. Lebanon is suffering a major economic and political crisis, in which central bank governor Riad Salameh is a key figure.
