Covid-19 bolsters support for greener future – Menon

Managing director takes stock of economic damage but says future will be a sustainable one

Covid-19 has made policy-makers more sensitive to the impact of climate change, according to the managing director of the Monetary Authority of Singapore.

While it was not directly linked to the pandemic, Ravi Menon said sustainability was likely to be an area of growth for the country going forward.

“In a funny sort of way, the pandemic has made us all a lot more sensitive and aware of how vulnerable we are to the forces of nature,” he said.
