RBA says it will replace banknotes ‘completely destroyed’ in bushfires

The bushfires ravaging Australia have prompted the country’s central bank to relax rules around returning damaged banknotes.

In a statement on its website, the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) said it would allow members of the public to claim against notes that have been damaged in the fires, even if they have been “completely destroyed”.
